You can do steam cleaning once a week, but people with oily skin can do it twice a week. If you have sensitive skin, it is better to do this treatment every two weeks.
Cleaning with steam should only be avoided by people who have asthma or allergies to plants, people whose skins easily become red and people who have major problems with acne.

Set aside half an hour for your skin care and make yourself a little home spa treatment. Perform the following steps to rejoice on the clean skin and irresistible healthy glow of the face:
- Thoroughly clean your face. Use a gentle cleaner to clean the skin, but do not use peeling. Wash your face with warm water to make sure no dirt or grease is left on the skin.
- Boil water. In a wide pot, boil at least half a liter of water. During the steam cleaning you can use a pot. You can do the steam cleaning only with water, but for maximum effect and enjoyment, you can use herbs or essential oils. If you choose to clean the face only with water, skip to step 4.
- Select a plant or an essential oil. It is believed that certain herbs and oils can further increase the benefits of cleaning the face with steam, depending on your skin type.
- For oily skin: lavender, green tea, oil of eucalyptus or tea tree, thin slices of lemon, chamomile and mint.
- For dry skin: lavender, chamomile oil, rose, green tea.
- For sensitive skin: chamomile, lavender.
- For combined skin: lavender, green tea, tea tree oil.
Once you choose what will “spice up” the water, place the ingredient into the pot with hot water and let it stand for 5-10 minutes so the water can cool. In that way, the steam will not be hot and you will avoid irritation of the skin. In addition, the hot steam can cause appearance of small capillaries.
Take a towel and prepare for treatment. Hold the hair back into a bun so it will not bother you during the treatment. Take a cloth that will hold the steam around your face.
Leave the steam on your face for 10-20 minutes. Lean over the water, but not too close. Cover your face with a cloth to not allow the steam to escape. If you have a sensitive skin, 10 minutes is enough. If you have oily skin, you can stay under the cloth for 20 minutes.
- Allow at least 20 inches between your face and the water.
- Close your eyes because some of the ingredients you put in the water can irritate them.
- Breathe deeply and relax. If you feel uncomfortable because of the heat, take small breaks and occasionally lift the cloth.
- Wipe your face with a towel. Gently wipe your face with a towel, without rubbing the skin.
- Put a face mask. This moment is most favorable for putting the mask. After exposing your face to steam, your pores are open and can easily collect the ingredients of the mask. You do not have to put a complicated mask. A honey mask is recommended for all skin types. If you have oily skin you can use egg white as a mask.
- Wash your face with warm water. The warm steam opens the pores, but after the treatment it is necessary to close the pores. You can do that with lukewarm water.
- Coat your face with a cream moisturizer. To have a soft gentle skin, brush your face with moisturizer cream.
