Homemade Herbal Oils, Balms, Lotions…
Most of us are accustomed to run for drugs when facing the occurrence of the first sign of cold or pain. Some even keep hundreds of pills at home, creams or liquids for treatment. But before you jump to your small private pharmacy, you can try to solve the problem naturally.
The interest of people to natural remedies that can be easily prepared is constantly growing because they can replace artificial drugs and help you if you have a small health problem, without causing side effects.
In this article, we represent you the most effective oils, balms, salves, lotions and gels, for different kind of diseases.
Balm for wounds and hemorrhoids
Take a fresh and dry flower from yarrow (70%) and 10% chopped up oak bark, raspberry leaf and blonde grass.
Melt 250 grams vaseline (desalinated and washed lard, butter…), add all the other ingredients, and then fry in low heat for about 10 minutes and add 1/4 spoon of baking soda. Leave it covered for 12 hours.
Heat it again on low, strain and pour it in containers. If the balm is made with lard or butter, then you must keep it in a refrigerator.
Salve for herpes
Chop 50 grams of melissa into tiny pieces, take 250 ml cold-strained olive oil and a little bit of wax. Add the melissa in oil and boil on steam for half an hour. Leave it covered overnight and the next day, strain it and heat it, and add 2-3 pieces of wax. When the wax melts and homogenizes, you can take it.
Lotions for cleaning oily skin
*200 grams fresh cabbage and 5 deciliters cold water
Preparation: Take the cabbage leaves and clean them with water, and then leave them in a bowl of cold water. In 1/2 l water, add little seasoned water, boil on low-heat for 2 hours, and then cool it. The aqueous substance is used as a lotion.
Use: Dip the cotton tampon in the lotion. Pour it over the pimples and other skin irritations that you want to get rid of. It is recommended to wash your face with soap after using this lotion. Leave the foam from the soap on your face for a few minutes. Then you should wash your face with hot water and brush it with a clean towel.
*15 grams linden flower and 2 deciliters hot water
Preparation: Pour hot water over the linden flower. Then cover it and leave it for about 30 min. Then strain it and bottle it. Keep it in a refrigerator.
Use: Put the lotion on a washed face about three times a day.
*1 garlic and 1 deciliter (70%) alcohol
Preparation: Mash the garlic and pour alcohol over it. Leave it overnight, then strain it and keep it in dark cups.
Use: Use a cotton soaked in lotion and massage the places with pus.
Gel against burns and eczema
Take 4 pieces of aloe vera. First, cut the thorns from the leaves and then cut the leaves and strain the liquid from them.
Spread the aloe gel on your diseased part of the skin. On top of it, put a gauze that should be changed every 2-3 hours. Before you start doing this, you should check the sensitivity of your skin from the aloe gel by putting a small amount of the gel on your skin. Watch how your skin reacts to it. If there is no reaction on your skin, then you can start using this treatment.
Hot Onion for infected wounds
Chop up one onion and put it in 2 tablespoons of olive oil and add 1 glass red wine. Fry it until the alcohol evaporates. Put the hot onion on your wounded place and cover it with gauze. Replace the onion every 2 hours until the wound lowers or completely disappears.
In a liter of olive oil put 100 grams of pretty green leaf of yarrow. Leave it on sunlight for 10 days or if you’re in a hurry, let it boil a little, then cool it and strain it in a bottle using a gauze.
Oil against rheumatism
Fill a bottle of 1 liter with flowers from heather and a garden roses. Leave it on sunlight for a month and then strain it. If the wounded places are treated with a warmer oil then the oil would be more effective. This oil should be done arround May and it lasts for about 1 year.

Few of the women know how to make a mix of an oil made by different kinds of plants. The grass or flower that we use for this purpose should be chopped apart in a mixer. In a jar, put 2 spoons of a chopped up plant and pour sunflower oil and a spoon of vinegar over it. Mix it good and close the jar. Leave it on sunlight for 3 weeks, and then strain it, and you can start using the oil for spreading.
